7:34 that really hit... For people who don't know. In the original " rodan" of 1956 there were two of them, a male and female. However at the end of the movie, the female is stuck because of the flames of an active volcano. The male try to save her but unfortunatly he fails, and both of them perish in the volcano. A third rodan will then appears, the rodan we all know. The last of his kind.... But now he is not alone anymore ❤️

something i absolutely ADORE about how Rodan acts here is how he occasionally behaves like a real bird. him flipping his neck back and clicking his beak like a crane when his egg hatches and hunting fish in a similar way to a black heron are such awesome little details

Love what a grouchy loner Godzilla is compared to his kid. this is honestly a breath of fresh air as far as fan animations in the community goes. a cute slice of life on monster island. absolutely love what an enthusiastic and proud parent Rodan is.

The fandom (and actually most of the films) often make a point of portraying Rodan as... Let's just say a jerk, so seeing him as a legitimately good guy and still having that feel completely in character is honestly heartwarming. God(zilla) bless the pterodactyl dad.

I love the detail of Rodan clicking his beak when he’s happy or excited, as I believe that’s a thing birds and most likely pterosaurs used to do to express their emotions.

7:25 I know this is probably Rodan's own egg from which he hatched from, turned into a grave/homage for his parents, perhaps. But later when he visits Mothra and it said that he has done this all before, I wonder if it's an egg he once had and it did not have life in it. Anyways, it's heartbreaking to see.

The subtle ques of Rodan looking back at his home and the background motions of gathering the flowers for a later emotional reveal really show a talent and skill in story telling as well as animation
