That was one of the most concise and understandable essays on parenthood and the necessity for shared theatres of play. I'm very grateful to have something like this to serve as a further foundation in my mind, for my 2nd time at being a dad (to be born on New year's Day). And at 30 I'm glad I made the decision to be a dad at an age where I will be able to run about after my grandkids :) Thank you Dr Peterson for this and many other valuable insights.

Thank you Dr. Peterson. I am one of those damaged children, it took me years to get my head somewhat straightened out, even into adulthood. It set me back so far. We cannot let this continue, not out of hate, but out of compassion.

As someone who is getting very close to fatherhood (and yes, at 38 I'm getting close to the historical mean age for grandfathers), I'm extremely grateful to have heard this. It's quite disturbing to know how many things have to go right for a child to mature properly, and how easy it is to derail the process. Especially considering the prevailing political winds are all about putting debris on the tracks.

It’s been my sense all along that all of North-America has been age-arrested throughout the past 3 years. Thank you for explaining this behaviour so eloquently. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to send my children to a Waldorf/ Steiner school where free and imaginative play was encouraged as part of the curriculum. As Einstein (who didn’t have a formal education prior to age 12) famously said: In order to be a great scientist, you need to have great imagination.
