I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am that you have created a channel specialized for shy singers. I was rise to be seen but not heard, and for the first time in my 46th years that I have decided to take back my voice. I’ve watched a hand fulls of your videos and have learned why it has been a struggle for me to start my singing journey. I love your calm, relaxed ways of explaining the psychological blockages, the techniques and the endless encouragements. Your videos had made me become more patient with myself and to enjoy the process. Thank you Mimi. Please know what you are doing does have a great impact on someone like me. I wish you all the best and I hope your channel will grow through times.💛🌟🙏🏼

@blahblahgdp

Ive lived with anxiety my whole life, so its been tough learning to relax. Ive noticed the times Ive sang the best have been those rare moments that ive been totally calm

@CietherStrike

That "listening behind you" prompt was FASCINATING!? Why does that work!?

@duskylunamoth

I felt this way and the first problem I had to address was the fact that I have seasonal allergies!! My doctor recommended non-drowsy tablets and it helped so much.

But even now, as I've been resting, I still feel like I have some residual tension; this video is so detailed and useful!! You're an excellent teacher.

@marijohanna3637

Hi Mimi! This is just brilliant. Exactly what I needed. I've struggled with anxiety forever and I noticed that I squeeze the throat so much. This is the first exercise that clearly helps me. Thank you so much!!!! I love many of your videos very much ❤❤❤

@mycustompaintedlife48

Yes! I live with my kids’ father and he is so critical, judgemental, and a complainer. Because of this, for decades I've been neglecting my chest voice.
When I was exploring resonant spaces, I had to do a monkey hoot, sirens, of course. The hoot was helpful but, my word, did I have to endure criticism!

@Ms.Mel.Creates

This is so great. I experience this type of choking closure when I need to take up space with my voice. It’s a very scary sensation for me. This helps a lot - even to know there’s a reason and I’m not imagining it!!!

@MysticLawTarot.111

Thank you so much for this helpful advice! I often struggle with perfectionism before recording, especially when it comes to setting up the camera and microphone. These technical issues can trigger intense frustration, causing me to shut down emotionally. I recognize there are likely deeper issues at play beyond just the logistics. I'm actively working on overcoming these challenges and have made progress before. Your tips will be incredibly valuable as I continue this journey. I'm grateful for the reminder to practice self-compassion - it's exactly what I need. ❤️

@NeverfailVocals

Such a great way to explain this and really be able to feel what you are teaching- marvelous!! thank you so much!! 🎁🎁🎁🎁 means the world to me

@celestedavenport6033

I like the teaching and specific ways to release the false vocal folds plus having such variety is great also!

@KaiyoSay

This is the informative and kind video I've found on this! Thank you! I look forward to watching the rest of your work ☺️

@ajvarz

Thank you sooo much! I damaged my vocal cords from singing too high and straining notes so my natural and singing voice got deeper. whenever i tried singing a bit higher i had this "wall" keeping me from doing so. i finally found a way to sing higher without feeling uncomftrable.

@YUH-g5n

Thank you so much😭. this is something i've been struggling with lately.

@MaurizioMusic

This is great -thank you! Music is so very much psychological as it is technical. :-)

@alekasheppard8339

Me too this is so lovely and calmly put across
Thank you Mimi for the encouragement as I had given up finding my voice again - more please

@kathrynclass2915

I just found this today and it has already after one practice, impacted me I the best way possible. Thank you. I will keep coming back to this with every song until it becomes muscle memory in my body or until I memorize it as a regular practice to follow.

@WilliamSean-Music

These are all amazing tips, mind blowing in fact! I love the suggestion of thinking of someone I love and special moments! I imagine I'm with my little nieces and nephew and hearing their giggles! It completely overpowers the worry about what people aside from them think about me! You're so articulate and your voice is so calming!! The mental part involved in singing is such a struggle! I live in an apartment with very thing walls and I know very well my neighbours can hear me. It's so hard to concentrate when I'm worried someone is going to start pounding on my door while I'm doing warm ups :(. Recently I've found that if I make over-the-top, unnecessary silly noises and talk in gibberish to myself before, during, and after warmups, I'm a little more relaxed because I can then just assume they already think I'm weird so the silly warm up sounds won't sound anymore strange than the gibberish.. if that makes any sense lol. I also swear a lot when I make a mistake in an effort to convince myself that it sounds like I'm learning how to sing lol. I think too much 🤣🤣
Anyways thank you for your videos Mimi! I look forward to enjoying more of your content and learning!
❤❤❤

@tinaweber3212

Thank you Mimi! This is very helpful! 💕

@methinks5310

This is really good, really helpful. Thanks.

@gtarcheryandoutdoors4567

Thank You Mimi, you are doing great videos. The WOW exercise is a game changer for me. I clearly experienced that openness in the throat. By the way should our belly be as relaxed as Thor's belly.❤
