There has been 7 generations of the Hoshimi family as said by VH Hoshimi Miyabi
Swordmaster one the Void Hunters of the first generation, was the 3rd generation head of ths Hoshimi family. By her looks. She was still not very old
So that means there have been 4 gens of Void Hunters

Since the leader of the Mercenary troop (the Pink haired VH on the screen) became a VH by pushing the Dark Wall 37 or 27 KM back and was one of the first Void Hunters

That would mean. She survived 4 Generations looking the same and not aging a bit which for now is not possible

While i like the idea of nicole having a connection to the void hunters, It ruins the charms of cunning hares, being the found family trope of two (now three) infamous, proficient combatants being knocked to the lowest points of their lives and now finding a happy, normal life thanks to an ordinary person

Another theory I have is Nicole is a half-blood descendant of the VH. She was part of this noble family as a step child due to the father/mother remarrying but since she doesn’t contain the abilities of their ancestors, she was discarded as a failure of a child at birth hence she is in the orphanage. With Nicole’s obsession with money, comes her instinct or behavioural trait from her one of her parents that chose to marry into the noble family which may be due to greed or power. But unlike her parent, she is obsessed with money not due to power or wealth, but as a Robin Hood like character

From what i know, Nicole was just a normal orphan in her childhood, lost everything because of the hollows, and had to grow up alone. She might have something special about her, but i personally prefer her to be the greedy girl we met at the tutorial, that's her charm

The only mysterious thing about Nicole is that, based on her in game Agent Intel, she was apparently adopted once by a prominent family but eventually found herself on the streets again shortly after. So if they ever make her into an S-rank to expand on her lore its most likely going to be about who that "prominent family" is. 
My bet is that its probably a family from TOPS

Nah, I prefer the idea that Nicole is just a random person who, by coincidence of fate, keeps bumping into extremely important people (Miyabi, Anby, Billy, Phaeton, etc...)
