@sp4rtavus244

That's what a lot of people dont understand. When you hear on the news that inflation is going down it doesnt mean that prices are going down. It remains the same or goes up at a slower pace.

@HillbillyYEEHAA

Not only have prices gone up, they've stayed up. They will never go back down. Products are smaller and more expensive so we're getting shafted 2x.

@michaelhenry4405

For the first time in my 40 years. I picked a tub of butter looked at the price and put it down. Picked up an olive oil bottle and put it down. I refuse to pay that much. These items aren't even 20%. We are talking 150%.

@Camberwell86

I'm 38 and I felt richer when I was 23. I used to go on little holidays back then and treat myself to smart clothes and smart trainers every once in a while. Not anymore. My wage just gets me through bog standard life and that's it. Any spare pennies I have I cling onto desperately because you never know what expensive curveball's coming next these days.

@Brandons125

Most people don't realize that when the media says "inflation is decreasing" what they mean is "prices are not rising as fast as they were, but prices are still increasing".

@bombski5657

Now plot it vs wages.

@jmcarbone2754

Inflation is like a flooded basement. While the rate of rise may slow, your basement remains flooded.

@ronaldg7522

Finally someone who explained it correct

@bigholli8449

Yes. When you remember the prices 5, 6 years ago, you realize how screwed we are.

@Byebyemeow

Finally a non gaslighting video about inflation

@Antebios

Thanks for showing how I've actually been given a PAY-CUT over the past few years instead of a pay increase.

@Scottyv12

Exactly!

They say inflation is back in its target range but ignore the fact that prices jumped up significantly before that!

@pladmitry

And here I am in Georgia (the country) seeing basic food items (think vegetables and chicken) rise 50-150% over the course of two years, while the official inflation figures are way below 20%

@Martin-ts7co

I remember in 2021 I used to do my monthly groceries for about 120-140 pounds,now I'd pay anything between 200-220 for the same stuff essentially.

@Allaiya.

I know this is the UK, but this is a good clip that highlights why economists & companies say the economy is good but why polled American consumers say “No. No it is not.”

@Winteriscoming...

We ALL know this. But, for msm news, this is actually very clear at helping people understand that we, everyday people, are STILL in a price crisis.

@haggishighways

I just know that my food shop, electric bills and a lot more is all over a 20% rise. My receipts prove it. I wish it was only 20%

@michaelbishop9157

supermarkets here got away with charging more during COVID and never went back to normal prices

@an_Orange_on_top_of_a_Capybara

Big corps: Times are tough, costs have to go up

Also big corps: Record profits 5 years in a row

@Merchantic

Its not just about inflation. it's about how quality is going down, its about planned obsolescence for all of our everyday gadgets, its about shrinkflation, where we are getting less and less from our purchase. Its about desperate thieves making stores lock up common goods, so now it just takes more time out of our day to do the shopping because we need to find someone to get us the item. Its so many things that just keep adding up and up.....
