All these papers on AI/ML applications to wireless communications have become more of a gimmick. People working on such areas never really find something novel, but use existing models to different scenarios without even giving mathematical justifications or performance bounds. They also ignore practical channel impairments and hardware complexity. It's high time IEEE journals start noticing this trend and put a stop to such cheap and shortcut method of doing research.
