Now i understand why they say Africa is an absolute giant
Anyone who is surprised by this, has never seen a globe before?
1st map is the mector projection (I think that's correct spelling 🤔) 2nd map is real sizes of countries
As a child, I thought why Greenland is not a mainland, it’s bigger than Brazil! It turns out this is how...
I love how India is still the same size
For those who don't know, the further a country/continent is from the ecuator the bigger it looks but on the 2nd image he shows the real size of the countries/continents
The countries on the equator line: 🗿
Brazil: Guys what happened? Central & South Africa: No idea India: Many countries just shrink into atoms ☠ Australia: At least we lasted without shrinking. Indonesia: Yep
Reason is the spherical curvature of Earth
Yeah it’s almost like it’s impossible to map a sphere onto a flat plane.
The map we’re all used to is the Mercator projection. It was used for sailors for navigation and it was accurate. Not for mapping land sizes, though.
kon lok Bhokat me school gaye
For those who dont understand- The 1st map was stretched into parts so we can see it clearly
India is more or less the same in size😂❤
India is real because it is not changed 🇮🇳
for those who don't understand the cause of this. When earth was formed, asteroids hit earth, then one time land started to crawl over the core. These forms a kind of plates called the tectonic plates. These tectonic plates cause this situation
"Yeah Let Me Just Swim To Canada" "Wait… SINCE WHEN IS THERE A GIGANTIC GAP BETWEEN USA AND CANADA?!" "Uhh… Since Always"
I already knew this since years
Interesting 😮
