@stratosdedousis2653

imagine a dude on this phone from that planet watching a similar video about us

@EvidentlyFire

As a citizen of K2; I would like to tell humanity to STAY THE F AWAY

@FaZeAbii

Can't wait to hear details about this in 250 years

@UndyingSOYAWER

Just remember, we're looking at that planet as if it is 124 years in the past

@anthonylawrence6924

It always amazes me how we vigorously we search for life beyond but shun all the life before our very eyes

@briansalk3233

We MUST reach out...to tell them about their car's extended warranty.

@pwill4real855

“We’ve just found life.”
3 seconds later
“Could support life”

@Owlsnestranch

We’re looking out at the planet 124 years in the past. The blew themselves up already.

@garybaris139

And the aliens all go..."f*ck, they found us"

@waaazupd1948

We're still looking for intelligent life here on Earth.

@Billionaireben

How to get there, headline "Oil discovered on K2-1B."

@EAMorgan71

With a planet that size, it would be very interesting to see how life evolved with that much gravity

@redtreestimeline8960

Meanwhile on K2: We found a planet that is creating a video about us!

@Au-nu9nc

There is no way that we are the only being ever existed

@joesimon2018

Even if we sent radio signals to communicate with that planet, it would take 124 years for them to hear us, and another 124 years to hear a response

@mikereed39

I was there for the family vacation. Had to call down to the front desk for towels. Swimming pool needed cleaning, just a bummer of a vacation.

@richardeldridge8335

We should send them money.

@yaweli2968

Aliens: damn it, these humans have finally found us.

@WifeWantsAWizard

[UPDATE 2024-JAN-16] He mentions the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). Five days ago, a report was published about a new look the JWST took of K2-18b. The report is called "Distinguishing oceans of water from magma on mini-Neptune K2-18b".

We now know for sure that...
- K2-18b has an ocean, but we cannot tell yet whether it is an ocean of water or an ocean of lava. Oddly, both produce similar chemical biproducts.
- K2-18b is 9x the size of Earth, but is probably more like Neptune than our own planet.

The Planetary Society has a great podcast episode with JWST scientist Knicole Colón to talk about this. Highly, highly recommended!!!

Never give up on trying to prove how Earth isn't special, only to prove Earth is very special.
