@mariaseed1393

I agree Bruce, customer service in decline. In my experience city is better than rural. went to dinner couple of weeks ago, meal arrived with no cutlery. waited 5 minutes for staff to walk past, got their attention and asked for cutlery, was told they were at the counter, I quickly responded , well can you please bring the cutlery. She did. Meal was only a pub meal, but yes times are changing

@victoryoneable

A lot of the problem is because of absentee owners who think a shop or restaurant can run itself. Having said that, there are a few iconic shops where (owner or employee) they seem to adopt an air of arrogance or entitlement, as if they're doing you a favour by serving you.

@debbieevans8800

Yep we are like you, research the product we want to purchase, read reviews, compare prices, know all the details about product ( what it does, how it works,etc) then go to the selected store to purchase. We’ve found it necessary to do all the research first as if you ask in store, like you said they know nothing, just stand there and read the back of the box, which is what you can do yourself only because you’re interested in the product you have more understanding than they do🤦🏻‍♀️
And yes they do make you feel like you’re privileged to be served😒
There are still a few good places though.

@hardrockuniversity7283

Well, here in Helena Montana USA I have generally had excellent customer service even though the help wanted signs indicate a labor shortage. I did get ripped off at a vehicle repair shop though. However, they were polite while they lied to me.

@glentomkins8044

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with customer service Bruce. Western Australia generally has a bad reputation for that. We say that 'WA' stands for 'Wait A While' - not good! As someone who has worked in customer service roles, I can agree that most WA businesses need to improve, young and inexperienced staff members notwithstanding. Please accept my apology on behalf of most businesses for your bad experience. I trust that you have better service in the future.

@petereaton6740

Hi Bruce I live on the road (full-time traveller) customer service was once the main thing looked upon as important, since the introduction of self service, supermarkets and super stores (Bunnings and alike) customer service has gone by the wayside, if I'm not in a hurry for something to arrive I order online everytime, also other comments about product knowledge, I 100% agree, if they don't know about what they sell they are in the wrong job!

@TheBrubaker2

Valid comments Bruce for sure. My first job in 1980 was McDonald's which may mean nothing now but what it taught me then about customer service and personal hygiene set me up for life 😂
Keep up the great work.

@alfioleonardi3281

You are right 💪

@woodymorgan4209

Agree 100%, it is the same here in SE Qld. I will travel 10 mins out of my way just to go to a store that I know provides good customer service. I may be getting old (62) but times have certainly changed. I don`t want to be negative to the younger generation but a lot of them do not have the best interpersonal skills, they dont know how to engage people. They live with there phones and maybe they dont need those skills there.

@petermacfarlane6278

Hi Bruce it can be that way in a lot of stores and I am like you, if I don't get some kind of acknowledgement from a staff member I will just up and off, Their loss. With the young kids, I think they have not had sufficient training with regard to customer treatment and product knowledge and it could even be the way they were brought up, so they are unaware of the issue.
You are right about employing and training people a difficult job while trying to make a dollar.
Keep your chin up ,looking forward to some more informative prospecting videos
Cheers Pete

@tonybaker7242

I agree with you my friend .
Iresearch my product online and buy online only now .
The good old days are gone when customer service was number one .
 Cheers from the Whitsundays .

@billyblack4985

Sounds a lot like Reeds Prospecting in Perth 🥴

@robertcusack1447

Sad to hear you had that disappointing experience. I’m a bit older than you and it is said that the elderly are invisible in many aspects. I live in a large town in rural Victoria and and have to say that I rarely suffer your experience. Also our Bunnings has many mature staff, most with very good product knowledge and many with trade qualifications.

@bigo9896

100% agree with what you have to say
The customer service is not the best in alot of shops in Perth

@rossbeeton7149

Sad times for costmer service the the cities no one has time for anyone ! Fortunately i am from the pilbara and we get looked after by our prospecting shop they always go out of their way to help out lucky us i reckon !

@paulwatsono462

@markwalker5231

Been there done that, won’t go back again.

@rodrigoruiz2214

Hi there part timer I'm usually a person who won't comment but given that I sense your deeply hurt by your recent shopping experience I just wanted to reach out and make sure your ok and you can get past it.
Also just want to say i enjoy your videos when there relevant to prospecting.
Cheers

@georgef7754

And then they wonder why people don't buy local.

@prospectorpete
