I had a candidate interview for a Java dev opportunity. The company has never used Scala and had no intention of ever using it. Moreover, the candidate had never used it. The team lead spent 15 minutes hammering the candidate on Scala. "Speculate for me, how do you think it would handle....?" Lots of silence in-between answers. One of the most stupid interviews I've had to sit through.
Ive had HR ask me how much experience I had with SQL and then how much with Sequel.
This is sad but true. An example I saw: junior Front-end developer position requirements: 3+ year angular and 3+ year agile software development experience in a team. My opinion it's not a junior position. This is a medior position with junior salary.
I received some messages on LinkedIn from recruiters and there is some weird job descriptions. And in call they ask you've any experience with HTML π€£. You didn't mention in your CV and I said everyone know HTML. Why you don't ask about React or Nodeπ
If you think that's funny I heard a guy interviewed for a job and was asked "Do you have experience in xyz software?" He is the AUTHOR of xyz software.
Cool with me. I didnt wanna work at a company like that anyways.
