@Phocidux

I'm not using Linux because I'm an expert, but because I frikin' love it.

EDIT: This comment gained more attention than I ever expected. Just if it were the same with my YouTube channel...

@thepirateweasel

You should have said that Android is actually a Linux distribution and iOS comes from BSD.

@tharii314

Classic Mac OS, the predecessor to MacOS X was actually from 1984, a year before Windows's launch. By the way, the first GUI operating system according to google was XEROX Alto (1973)

@tomas-wi8dy

Chrome os is based on gentoo-linux, android use the linux kernel (so these 2 are a sort of linux distro), macos use the freebsd kernel side by side the mach kernel

@bat_mobile7545

Linux - no gaming
Gaben - let me reintroduce myself.

Linux Mint is very beginner friendly.

Compared to Windows 11, you are not forced to use an online account. You are not forced to buy a license to use it. You can share it. You can use it on old PCs, without a need to check if your devise is compatible. You can be safe, when downloading software.

This is very beginner friendly.

@midwestweirdo666

Mac os wasn't introduced in 2001, version 10 was released in 2001.

@agaldoo

Linux is actually very user friendly depending on the distro youre using. Some distros have a destop gui built in(desktop environment) and the terminal isnt too hard to use

@Rostik_170

Bro. Ubuntu and mint are the USER FRIENDLY linux, you are saying memes and stereotypes about linux.

@evgenius123_

About linux gaming is not very true, but true. Many Valve games ported to Linux after releasing of Windows 8, SteamOS is linux-based OS, also Steam for linux include proton - specific extended version of Wine (Windows not-emulator for Linux), which allow to play (in ~95% cases) windows games on Linux. Many games nowadays cross-platform and have Win, Mac and Linux support.
Commands is easy to remember, it's not like chinese language or something. Also installing OS, updating software and install new software is nowadays not much difficult whan same actions on Windows.
One of major downside of Linux -- rooted not to Linux, but to some software companies, that not make linux version of very important apps, like Adobe programs, SolidWorks, Corel Draw etc. Also sometimes Linux have problems with video drivers, but nowadays this problem is less notable.
Sorry for bad english, I proud of myself that I use Google Translate 0 times for this comment)

@partha2utub

A good video for a newbie.

Linux is built on top of unix kernel and android is built on top of Linux kernel. Even MacOs also used unix kernel.

Unix and Linux was built to make it robust and developer and enterprise friendly systems. As an experienced IT engineer, I love this OS.

@fglatzel

Unless you are a kid who plays computer games, Linux is pretty much all you ever need...

@arc1k9990

2:54 "You need a PC (optional)

@EpiFoc

Wow.. Windows 1.0 BSOD looked like Skyrim enchanting table 😅

@AnonymousHedge

Linux can absolutely be one of the most stable if not most stable if you aren’t using anything too bleeding edge. This is one of the big reasons why almost all web servers use Linux as OS (aside from easy customization and performance, especially with paralleled operations and unusual hardware configurations)

@StacerVarien

6:55 "cannot install apps outside the app store"
laughs in trollstore

@fr9714

As a Linux guy I laugh when people say this is better and that is worse. lol. An OS is just a platform to start your work and all OSs have their strength and weaknesses and get the work done. Today even more so. So it’s ridiculous to put down preferences.
Esp Linux folks should know that given Linux is about choice including choice of the OS itself

@dark_shinryu

3:31 wait now most Linux distro use graphics interfaces ...... Yes for installation there still uses terminal interfaces, but in installation process you can select which DE or graphics interfaces you want to use.
