When you commit, the undo data is not actually purged - otherwise flashback queries wouldn't work. Also, only on delete is the actually deleted data stored in undo; with inserts and updates, a note of the changes are stored. The principles were very well explained.

APPS_UNDOTS1 usage: 97 % size : 30924 MB why my APPS_UNDOTS1 table is growing so fast ( it's been one year) ? does this mean my APPS_UNDOTS1 doesn't return to its previous size after the transaction is complete? is there a way to empty APPS_UDOTS1 and is it safe when we empty APPS_UNDOTS1?
How purge the UNDOTBS tablespace?
