this! also, if you find that you feel out of control and are afraid about things you can’t change (or don’t know how to change), volunteering in your community is such a good way to ground yourself and feel like you’re making a difference. soup kitchens, animal shelters, habitat for humanity: all of these are good examples of ways to get engaged in the right way and meet new people.

1440 newsletter is great for this! Daily newsletter, includes big headlines and little good news snippets all in one email 💕

@rottengirl7852

Love how relevant and helpful all of your videos are! Thank you for sharing your advice ☺️

@reconstructinglove

A year ago I shifted to only reading headlines from balanced outlets for 10 minutes in the morning. If a story is relevant for where I want to invest, I'll click on one or two a day to skim. My nervous and immune systems have become so much more stable! Now when I watch an actual video, I can only take a couple minutes before the stress is too uncomfortable. Thank you for encouraging regulation and balance!

@cloalex5o

i try to just listen to the news while i work cuz i can't protect my peace there anyway so it seemed like the perfect time, and then there's people around me i can talk thru issues with and it helps bring down my anxiety a little bit

@aurora231537

@Unicorn11-h3t

Thank you so much for this! I thought I was the only one who used to feel this way. Back in 2020 during Covid, I used to be constantly on twitter which exposed me to lot of terrible news and my heart was literally beating faster for almost a week. I went to the doctor and she told me to not be on phone all the time and to do some household chores that would distract me😅

@tillywilly2516

Great advice 🎉

@alexkashani1232

I needed to hear this. With the news being about Ai, ai competition btwn countries, and how it impacts pricing, job market and trading. It feels like companies and their stocks are rising and falling everyday. And its important to watch the stock and the changing world. But yeah… my nervous system can't regulate it.

@violetviviana

Wow! A friend and I were legit having this exact conversation :)

@Soph18

I needed to hear this so much, thank you!

@gr0wnup5

I really needed this advise, Just unsubscribed a lot of "anxiety inducing" channels 👍

@mattiganoleary3102

I'm usually stuck to my phone and the news, and yeah, it's awful. It's all awful. But then, i had jaw joint surgery a couple weeks ago, and the surgeon told me that I had to look out for anything that made me clench my jaw and avoid it like the plague for 4.5 months to avoid getting lockjaw again. It was basically permission to ignore the news. At least, for a few months. I am just going to ride out the next few months avoiding the "everything is terrible and nothing matters" headlines as much as possible. So my advice: ask a jaw surgeon.
