So underrated, keep it up brother!
This is fantastic! I love how you took the extra effort to make this able to generate. I do have some pointers, because I love vanilla style village creation and really wanted to study the style for a bit. General critique; While I agree the bamboo blocks can be used for a Japanese aesthetic, I do feel the jungle villagers and the general jungle vibe are not a good match for them. I also think that lanterns are beautiful but would likely not be used for a jungle village, seeing as only snowy villages use these for a very logical reason; to protect the torches from the wind and snow. All the other villages are content with torches. Last, I think it would have actually been very fun if you incoorporated trees into the design, although I'm not sure how feasible it would have been. This way you could have the denseness be a part of the village generation, with houses built around trees. - 3:50 This structure seems like it wouldn't be usable. Villagers can't open fence gates, so the butcher would have no way to approach their smoker and would get stuck trying to access it through the front door. Furthermore, villagers never live inside of job sites, only in houses. - 4:09 it is a little weird that the farmer would have to climb the rocky bit next to the fence to reach their job site. Other than that, a fine standard farm. - 4:52 while this isn't standard, I actually love this! Target blocks were added after 1.14 and their absence from fletcher structures is criminal. - 6:08 I agree it's a bit big, but I gotta say I love the log wall. Adds a very unique bit of texture to the build. - 8:23 I'm hesitant about the Shinto arch here. I feel it leans closer to real life culture (and more specifically, religion) than Microsoft is comfortable with, and as these symbolize passage and are meant to be walked under, the idea of building a gate over a well just seems an invitation to wet feet. - 8:47 I'm not sure they'd add azalea shrubs here as those are exclusive to lush caves, but honestly I kinda dig it. Same way sea pickles can show up in desert villages. It's just fun. The end result is rather stunning. I'm not sure how the villager AI handles this dense area, have you tried living with them for a bit to see how they get on? How well does the village generate in the more wooded areas? Or will the trees swallow up all of that village space?
I think this is close to what I'd like in a bamboo village but I think it'd be cool to have it look more like real life Chinese architecture, especially since how popular concept for cherry grove village uses plenty of other materials rather than going overboard on the cherry wood so bamboo village could incorporate other materials too to make the colour scheme more match to irl Chinese architecture. The green tea colour scheme is pretty though.
i wish they would add jungle villages, this design is so good!
