Bob and Bill really touched on something important when they were talking about how hard it is to win a championship with a small point guard. I’ve been realizing for years as someone who loves the history of the game, and still follows it to this day, outside of Detroit Pistons Isiah and Steph Curry, there’s really never been a player 6’3 or under that was the unquestioned best player on a championship winning team. CP3, Iverson, Nash, Derrick Rose, Westbrook in OKC when Kevin Durant left, etc. None of them were able to win a title as the #1 guy. it just proves that as much as the game has changed over the years, what remains the same is that it will always be a tall man’s game. Which makes what Thomas and Curry were able to do at their height that much more stupendously great.
