I'm from Durban and living in Gauteng now. I came from the townships and life was tough but we hardly had power cuts and water was available. Sadly apartheid was terrible but one thing white people knew was how to take care of things, the buildings, no dirt or litter on the streets. They respected nature. I took my family few years ago past point road its a slum, Johannesburg CBD is the same a total slum most parts of it. We blame apartheid and the white man for alot of things but we can't blame them now for how we take care of our surroundings. The community have to unite and get rid of these criminals.

I used to go to Hillbrow by bus on the weekends in the mid to late 80's, to listen to vinyl, have a milkshake and maybe see a movie. Those were the days that I remember.

When my friend was still living in Hillbrow, he was held up at gunpoint in brought daylight right behind a police van. When the criminal turned to run away, my friend started banging on the police van, but it just drove away, ignoring my friend's frantic banging and yelling.

I can assure you that 4 robberies per day is not even close. Probably more like 4 robberies every hour. Like the narrator said, the majority go unreported either for fear of the criminals or total lack of confidence in the police to take any action. What a shame a once thriving area has gone to the dogs. Well done ANC. Great job as usual 🙄
