the best success metric is the amount of flux you use for one board
How to measure the success of others? Don't. Comparison is the thief of joy.
I listen to Louis because he suffers from the same curse I've been dealing with my entire life: the need to explain the same thing in five different ways.
I just want to say thanks again for rescuing the data from my wife's iPhone back around 2018. She dunked the thing in a swimming pool and the first thing I thought was, "I need to send this to Louis." I was amazed how quickly you did the job and how simple it was to restore the data on her new phone using the little 128GB flash drive you sent back with the phone. So glad I started watching your videos way back when to know you existed, but most importantly, could be trusted to do your best for me, the customer. You didn't disappoint.
I was bafled by that video, I think alex is losing his mind or something, sorin's response was perfectly on point, really classy dude, I hope one day I can reach that level of success, sorin is the happiest repair guy I know
I'd have to care about other people's success first.
I mean this with all sincerity, you're probably one of the older YouTubers that I watch but you actually aged with knowledge rather than just in an echo chamber. Full on 50 y/os on this site crashing out and you're thriving. Thank you for educating many people including myself on so many important topics.
I still remember when I first found your channel. It started with the board repair videos, and I was like "wow holy crap people actually fix these tiny electronics, that's so cool" I still vividly remember the first "rant" video of yours I watched, which was about how adults should treat children. That's when I clicked the subscribe button. I love the wisdom in your videos, the messages you push, and the way you convey them. You give yourself a lot of shit, but I genuinely look up to you and your way of thinking. You have taught me and many others what a good, respectable person looks like. Not really related to the video as a whole, but just keep doing what you're doing. I'm glad making videos brings you joy, because your videos bring me joy too!
I needed to hear this because, in the last couple of weeks, I have started comparing my life's success to the success of my friends. That started to rob me of joy, and this video showed me that I need to stop focusing on other people's success and be happy with what I have accomplished. Thank you Louis for this video and speaking up.
I subscribed because I like your communication style and personality. I know nothing about tech, electronics or repairs. Im a retired Marine, Special agent, Pilot and former air traffic controller. I enjoy watching your content and thats all that matters. Listening to smart people helps me relax and I learn new things
Blackberry got promoted and Louis got demoted. YouTube is getting cutthroat.
I watched your "Just do something" video this weekend, then tried for the first time ever to make a wire connection using a spade connector. Today, I think I'm going to be able to replace the wires and elements on my powdercoat oven, all by myself. I suspect I'll also be able to use this knowledge to fix a switch on my gas cooktop. You're an excellent role model.
Alex will and forever be a car salesman, discrediting ever other lot and indicating why you should buy from him.
Came for the board repair videos, stayed for the life advice x
I love how that North repair channel brings people down to lift himself up, when you compare yourself you lift others up and humble bragging about other people's success. I love this about you.
The whole concept of "how many subscribers is a measurement of how much success" is flawed and makes him look extremely insecure. Like you mentioned, luck is a huge factor.
One thing i learned a long time ago is that subscribers mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. Who cares?! It's just a metric of people who could be bothered to press a button! The entire point is, for me at least, to just share my journey and try and make some money along the way. As long as my kids are fed, I couldn't care less!
With the amount of people struggling and uninspired in the world today, we can safely say that ‘successful’ people are succeeding in accumulating private personal wealth, but at the cost of everyone else’s attention, behaviour habits, physical and mental health, and general wellbeing.
"I don't punch down" Constantly picking on Clinton.... ;-p
