Fun Fact - Because NYC is home to the UN, and because diplomats are immune to most criminal prosecutions and fines, diplomatic cars there can rack up hundreds of citations without any real consequences.
"Speed limiting device installed in their car" Them: buys new car đź’€
The leaderboard is more of an incentive than a deterrant ngl.
Fines should be proportional to income. Then they won't ruin poor people, and rich people won't be able to just ignore them
Fun fact. That line of dialogue is not actually in Final Fantasy Tactics and is an edited screenshot that has been floating around for years. It seems like something Wiegraf might say, but he never actually does.
I wasn't ready for the FInal Fantasy Tactics reference lol
Here in Houston, they tried to have red light ticket cameras. They were going for a few years but were deemed unconstitutional and so now you still get a ticket in the mail, but you just throw it away bc it doesn’t affect your driving record. It’s a “community fee”.
Fun fact: The A6 is by far the most popular escape vehicle in Germany. There is even a bank robber "gang?" calling themselves the Audi gang. Great car.
In Finland, fines are based on your income. For example, a rich businessman got a speeding ticket of 121 000€ after driving 30 km/h over the speed limit.
"Cameras Patrolling the streets" makes it sound like there's autobots with Camera Heads wandering around in search of offenders.
I like the fine system they have in Finland, where the fine is directly proportionate to the income and wealth of the offender. So you're rich and like driving to fast, here's a 100,000 Euro fine, enjoy.
I thought it was gonna be the guy who got deported for speedrunning the manhattan loop at 2am.
The fact your threw in a Final Fantasy Tactics quote made me love this short more than any short I have ever seen! Not just thrown in, my apologies, used in the most significant and powerful way!
Sounds like his car needs to get the fight club treatment lol..
Finland, Switzerland and a few other european countries implement income-based fines for traffic violations. The higher your disposable income is, the higher the fine. It's perfect!
Love that Final Fantasy Tactics overlay. Tremendous.
Dude over here casually quoting final fantasy tactics.
In Germany when you get fined because of speeding you get a point on your drivers license called „Punkt in Flensburg“. I think at 3 you get your drivers license taken away
In germany if you get caught speeding once thats just a fine but repeating earns you points and can eventually lead to a loss of your licenese. Ofcourse depending on the speed you are going you can also lose your license immediately. Like idk if you went 80 in a 30 school zone.
