@LonelyRanger902

The real secret is that their roads are not exposed to multiple freeze/thaw cycles, like in northern climates. Also, they don’t experience the heavy rainfall of a monsoon season

@dennisyapp1289

No freezing and thawing and no salt

@OXBLOOD999

The roman roads in the uk are the best I've ever driven on , no pot holes very smooth and 2000 years old

@russschaal2448

They need something because roads built by hand during the depression lasted way longer then the interstate road do!!! US 41 in Pasco County Florida was solid till the 2000s! My friends dad worked on it in the late 1930s & 1940s too.

@jamesjohns829

Oh OK! And the Titanic was unsinkable! Let's first prove it by showing us the 100 year old road that has actually lasted 100 years!

@jefft8138

China came up with a similar method when building a highway across a desert but also added wide areas of woven organic cellulose filled with sand along both sides of the road to keep dunes from sweeping in.

@martynjones9513

100 years ? Mmm, only time will tell !

@joereynolds-r6t

Did you know in Pennsylvania? We don’t even fill the potholes

@philmasiello

Dubai just began industrialization in 1966 and building roads in the 80’s. So how do they know they will last?

@Omer1996E.C

For those saying "no freezing and thawing..." deserts are actually VERY fluctuating in temperatures. At night, it's just above freezing, and at daytime, it's unbearable

@patrickjordan5055

Weather is 🔑

@matt-2-3

The geo stuff in one form or another has been used in the UK for decades. I can remember they did my childhood street using it in the early 90's.

@vhinzandrews7568

They might have the strongest pavements, but it holds floodwaters the longest😂😂

@Cesar9730

Geo cell and Geo textiles have been used for a long time, especially for airports, bridges, and military applications. The idea is to use the same way the steel reinforces are used, which provides strength and proper distribution of stress to the surfaces. Could also be a combination of the same methods with temperature conduction divices that can keep the ice out the roads.

Bring to south africa 🇿🇦

@78nailbomb

It's not for distributing weight. It's for preventing the shifting of the loose sand under the asphalt.

@socialexperimentai

Concrete? Do you mean asphalt?

@adamsthoughtsonwhiskey

So I guess in Dubai, they have the 301 area code like Maryland and all their dump trucks have English written on the back of them. That’s pretty cool.

@joaosito68

I'm in a project where we're using those geo cells to install grass on the slopes...

@stellabrooks9813

WOW ‼️ 👌🏼
