@Marvel_Shadowcat

Good luck trying to find them nowadays . its tough

@theretropal

Easy trick, all PS2 backwards compatible models have 4 USB ports. All PS3 models, FAT, Slim and Super Slim are all backwards compatible with PS1 games.

@sonoma4525

That's the best model ever

@alimation5003

The Spider-Man font, 4 usb port, metallic looking, And giant one

@EllenTheArtist

Omg, I didn't know how to check if my ps3 was compatible. Thanks for this vid! Going to buy some ps2 games I love

@lukedavis436

FYI the BC models are extremely unreliable so be careful,

Also only the CECH-A AND CECH-B models have Hardware backwards compatibility the others are all emulated

@pepsidude8919

I still have a working backwards-compatible PS3 system so far which is the 60 GB model and I also really wish Sony would have still kept the PS2 backwards compatibility on all of the later models as well.

@annmarancik

Another way to tell is if there are four usb ports for the controller

@rubeng370

I had the 2nd model PS3 when i was like 12 or 13 in 2011 or 12. Was disappointed to learn that the model 2 does not play PS2 games 😢 and i still had my game collection after my console got flodded 😮

@losvikings2584

I like these ps facts. You should make a playlist for each console

@awestruckbeaver3344

I repaired my original 60GB model when it broke and was devastated when it died for a second time.

Getting rid of the backwards compatibility on the PS3 was a complete misfire by Sony in my opinion.

@Batav19924

I have one collecting dust at my parents house. I fixed the optical drive for $50 and got the system itself for free

@NOZDRAVA.2

I love that model man

@kaitlynhowell

Well dang. Google got my hopes up, until you mentioned a certain model of which I don’t own. ( I have the slidable eject version where you slide open the top to put the game inside. )

@RedTeam_Medic

My friend has the backwards compatible version, it used to cost $900 in my country 1 month later it cost the same as a normal fat ps3

@jennifersenda616

Something to know these original model PlayStation threes suffer from an issue called the yellow light of death. It is caused from a bad RSX chip, which is the GPU and the solution is to replace it with a more reliable 40nm chip in a mod called the Frankenstein mod, but you have to do some modifications to the PlayStation to accept the new chip as without those new modifications the console will not start

@Bronwyn031

I have two of the OG original PS3 sitting in their boxes with one of them with the PT (Silent Hill concept demo game) installed on it. They are literally just collecting dust as I've become a Master Race PC gamer.

@TheNenad4

They are also recognisable of having 4 USB ports under at left side and model named CECHC04.

@wingman-1977

You forgot the 80GB version that has 4 USB ports on the front. That also is BC with PS2 games (via emulation though).

@davidovers

All ps3 consoles will play ps1 games
