I’ve been applying this and looking at money as a game of Monopoly! And that’s, essentially, what it is. But, growing up sort of lower end of middle class, I was taught to be emotionally attached to money! Money is paper or coins or a transaction. It’s neither good or bad! It’s a tool to use to make our lives and circumstances better and I want it! Ready. Set. Go! Let’s play this game!

We are increasingly making the game more difficult for new players. It is more difficult now than it was 70 years ago for people to climb the socioeconomic ladder. This is despite our leaps in productivity. The rules have changed in favor of those born into wealth. Antitrust laws have been removed, stock buybacks are not seen as market manipulation anymore, and glass steagall has been repealed. These are just a few of the major reasons why we now live in a world where the rich are playing with hacks and the rest of us are building our skills without reward.
