When a fridge from 1960 still works and a smart fridge from 2023 is already for the trash bin.

‘We’ll go down in history as the first nation that did not save itself because was not cost effective.’ 😢Kurt Vonnegut

@tavascarow

"Every time history repeats itself, the price goes up". In my humble opinion, a great sentence that should be taught in schools worldwide.

@hssrrw

It’s so sad to watch this film from 2011 and realize: the only thing changed since then is that everything got even worse, much worse.

@zeph6439

Real progress is coming to the profound understanding that we are part of nature, and nature is part of us.

@chinookvalley

As long as we normalize treating animals with cruelty, it is normal for us to treat each other the same way. WE ARE ALL ONE, and we are all in this together. I can't go to a zoo without having a nervous breakdown. I was raised on a farm to treat each and every creature on this planet with dignity and respect. I am Cherokee and my connection to Earth is profound. How anyone can ignore the needs of another is beyond me. Progress and technology are killing all life.

Exceptional - thank you and thank you for making this video available for free!

@justicewillprevail1106

Working three jobs and still barely to put food on table and roof over head is NOT progress.

@tomdarby4906

nature will always restore her balance; with or without us

@crazyduck1254

oh my goodness the first five seconds is so sad. I’m so sick of the world I’m not sure if we able to watch this film right through

@mikekennedy5470

I think I am one of the last American men that was able to support a wife and 4 children by working . I was only able to do that by working 70 hr weeks.

@Loqua888

Grave stone will say: greed and fear killed everything

@simonhodgetts6530

My university dissertation 30 years ago attempted to discuss this subject (not very well) - how the relentless search for convenience has just made our lives busier, more complicated and in many ways meaningless.

@dvasiceta7073

@catalinmitrofan5150

Humanity is already reaching high levels of trauma because of this "progress". I don't want to think about the next generation of children. We should slow down and return slightly to "old school" kind of life. Technology is good, but this is too much for us.

@ericapierce1594

Our young people who are just starting to live independently need to see a video like this. It’s their futures that are at stake! They need to understand the risks.

@MGBranco

That's why I'm going off-grid! Back to our roots... Away from all the speedy madness of big towns... Close to nature... Eating better, breathing better...

@Isaacopaci

I'll come back to rewatch on my birthday always, this very video. My 86minutes was so enriching and as well jaw-dropping.
Thanks to the producers

@henripoiters561

What a powerful program. Respect to the makers for daring to show what really hides behind pretty words like “progress.” That argument between father and son says a lot: we often think differently about what’s good, but sometimes forget who pays the price. Great that this is being brought to light. Thanks for the eye-opener.

@susanhill149

I hate the huge data processing centers they are building to support the AI nobody asked for.
