Meanwhile the Japanese Imperial army on the pacific see red cross as a target mark.
That's because they save both Parties. God bless those Boys!
That's why you need to make everyone in the conflict know that a medic will help you no matter your side or status
I have read that Allied and German Medics treated any wounded soldiers they found(?)
In the Hurtgen Forest, U.S and German medics worked together multiple times.
The Japanese: If you hit the white it's 5 points, the red is 10 points tho.
The fact that medics were safe is such a touching fact to me. A small sliver of humanity left in the most violent times.
reminder there is records of 2 US medics doing their job inside a church when the germans push the allies off the area they respected the laws and even supplied the medics with german supplies so they can treat the wonded germans too soon enough the allies took the area back but the medics continue their job unopposed either by friend or foe
Meanwhile in the Pacific, the Japanese saw those red crosses and said "we do not care"
My grandfather inlaw was a medic on Bougainville. Somehow he both earned a bronze star and walked off the island. He never talked about it but I was also told that medics that earn medals saw the worst parts of the war.
My father was a Sgt with the 104 medical battalion,Co. A 29 division. Thank you for recognizing their service. RIP Dad..
Also most German pows would later recount that it was harder to see the Red Cross symbols considering everything was in black and white however later on it would get easier to see the symbols once world war 2 in color came out in 2009
Imperial Japan: "Red Cross? Looks like a walking target to me"
We Germans just thought the Swiss finally decided to pick a side.
Keep the medic footage coming!
if it was me i would've tried to learn "hey asshole i'm a medic, i can help you" in german
During D day, there was a French town where paratroopers were fighting. 2 medics treated wounded in a church as time went on, they started treating the enemy. Seeing this, anytime both parties saw those medics, they would stop all fighting to let them pass. Yarnhub has a video about this.
My father was in the Pacific during WW2. He said the Japanese would target medics without hesitation to the point that medics would even hide even their medical bag under their shirt.
That enemy only seemed to respect it on the western front. Eastern front was a nightmare
