18 year in as a location sound professional. I’ve had quite a few 416’s (including an old T power). I also just turned 50…I guess I’ll celebrate with my 416’s.
Great video - I didn't know MOST of that!! I bought a Roswell mini-K87 when I got serious, because I just couldn't drop a whole thousand bucks... Don't get me wrong - the roswell is SO buttery and delicious.. but I knew I had to have the 416. Anyway, I waited like 2 years for the 416 to go on sale, because like you said - it NEVER does - and I was doing backflips to happily pay ONLY $869 (950 with tax) for mine last November, and it's all I use now. It just makes everything so much easier!
i own the MKH-416T i love it dearly got it for a steal.
Great video, again. thank you. If I were a rich man, I would start saving up for a 416 as it sounds fantastic in all reviews. Until I get rich, I can only dream of the 416 and keep using the Sennheiser MKE600 and the Rode NTG5. Both are fantastic sounding mics too.
Nice history. It is on sale here in europe also. Thanks
“ next level of nerd “ yes please 💪😉👍 thank you for this wonderful information 👌
Great information there, sadly I don't own one, however I do have the MKE600, another great Sennheiser product.
I love their e614, use it in film production all the time!
I live just 30mins drive south of Hannover!
The mic of "in a world" movies trailers?
100% want the ultra nerd video. Love that stuff and want to learn!
More nerdy please thank you! 🤓
this is also an often counterfeited microphone, helpful to go over how to open it up and check and also note where the XLR is to note that as well to check for authenticity... other channels did this but you gotta watch out for fakes! I bought mine (successfully got a genuine one) but knowing what to look for helped to make sure I got a real one.
I haz one and only used it once, id rather lav mics
Off the top legendary mics list; - MKH 416 (note: the full model number is MKH 416 P 48; gee I wonder what that P 48 means ;) ) - TLM 103 - U87 - SM7 as a series - SM57/SM58 (notable as being the only truly cheap legendary mic) - RE20 There's a lot more but I'm drawing blanks atm
First of all, congratulations on your channel. I'm sending this message because I'd like you to make a video explaining the VIDEO FOLLOWS AUDIO features available on some equipment, such as the Yolobox, Rodecaster Video Pro, etc. I've seen some on the internet, but honestly they weren't educational enough for me, I have ADHD and I'm autistic (how do I set up the camera, how do I route the audio cables - does the microphone come out of the camera? How do I connect a Cloudlifter to this process, if necessary?) How do I make this happen if I have a Zoom Podtrack or a Rode Podcaster where all my dynamic microphones are connected? In these tutorials I've seen, they focus more on software configurations than hardware, you know? And it would be very valuable content for your channel, because there are a lot of people - like me - who would like to put together a podcast, but don't want to depend on editors to do it - so automatic cuts based on speech would be essential for that to happen. Also, if possible, I would like you to review the Roland VR 6HD, a true professional streaming setup, which has the audio and video mixer on the same console - including native VIDEO FOLLOWS AUDIO and no "hacks", because on this console you designate the video AND audio input for each channel, because they are on the same equipment. It is the setup of dreams, if it didn't cost two kidneys - but even so, it is worth showing. A big hug straight from the Brazilian Pantanal, HAPPY EASTER!
Great vid ❤ How abt MKH50 vs 416 vs 8050? Which one is more universal? Thx
Nice homage to the 416. The issue now is that there is a flood of Chinese made fake 416s out there and unless you are buying new from an official dealer, there is a very good chance that cheap used 416 is a fake. Especially if the seller is not sharing the serial number. Caveat Emptor with the used 416s.
