@RisingRecluse

I think the key word is authenticity. People are tired of being told everything is perfect from people who are problematic. The age of toxic positivity is over.

@Jen-Chapin

After being on YouTube for 8+ years, I can definitely say that the most valuable thing I can give my audience is authenticity and relatability. The relationship I have cultivated with my viewers is so important to me! I have scaled down on overly editing and just share my life.

@AshleyPaquinOffical

I grew my channel from 0 to 11,000 subs in 9 months and the #1 thing I hear is how AUTHENTIC it is. Talk to people, don't talk at people and connect with the human on the other side. And just be human. That's the winning strategy for real success

@lifewithsandrahart

Great video!! I have been doing this for 7 years. I am 86 years old now and enjoy having conversations with my community.

@NorthwestSimpleLiving

I started turning on the camera and just talking through the how to of whatever I'm doing in the kitchen, and then it turns out it's a whole
v i b e. Lol, who knew us grandmas would still rock, just by being ourselves😂🎉

@positivo5832

This has been the OG method of Filipino youtubers and they call it 'RAW VLOG' and their growth is exponential.

@MotoMatsalleh

Ive been noticing this, I think you are totally right about the authenticity aspect, along with that I think lonely people spending tons of time online are also feeling they are really with a friend or mentor/grandfather for 20 mins which must be very appealing

@JohnvanGurp

My channel grew from 200 to 13K in 5 months, because I started vlogging about my wife’s dementia and my experience as her caregiver. I never script anything but once in a while I do some editing to add old video or whatever, but it’s anything but produced or slick. I think people appreciate and crave real, vulnerable and honest empathy based content.

@sunpiagain4251

It’s so authentic I love it. It’s like you’re having a chat with your friend not overproducing no nonsense.

@CodingMountainMan

One can't teach genuine authenticity. People speak from the heart and their experiences.

@Mindfuljourneywithme111

Being authentic is a big reason people come back. They want to see real life stuff as instagram etc has made life look so curated

@CaptainWooow

great video, for whoever wants to start from zero consider that:
- you still do need to speak fairly well (way above average) going on a tangent is ok, adding zero value while having mmm, ahhhh, I mean... is not
- YT can detect if your content can be just listened to and not watched directly, if that's the case they won't push your videos because they know you won't watch ads. so at the beginning you do need to add visuals

and yes being interesting is a must

@Aftersun_diary

I actually catch myself that I watch more of regular style content. Just people living, working in their garden, talking about regular life stuff. I guess we are all tired of what social media has been for the past few years and just crave normality - not perfection.

@yogawithhitesh

I posted yoga videos on my channel for two years and got 5k subs, then I started talking about life and in 3 months, I got to 90k subs as of today. What worked? Simply showing up as who I am and what I have to offer. No pretence, only humanity.

@lillianlillian

ive dealt with perfectionism all my life and its stopped me from posting videos ive made. finally i made one on a whim in my car and it flowed naturally but i had a fear that it wasnt professional enough or the quality wasnt high enough, but this is my sign to finish editing and just take the plunge. thank you!

@OmasMusings

Thank you for this! I am so encouraged, because this is my style! As an older woman who is dying to share wisdom (some call it advice), I am looking forward to sharing in this manner! I don’t want to invest in all kinds of equipment. I just want to share spontaneously from my kitchen, my living room, my car, etc!

@GeopatsPodcast8

I have been enjoying this return to less flashy YT for awhile now.

Maybe grandpa and grandma style, since yourr including women in the examples.

@Justnspired

I love the idea of "Grandpa Style" Vlogs.

@strangetheology

People are craving authenticity but they are also craving conversation. This is part of recapturing what we lost in the modern industrial world.
