I was a sniper in regular British infantry. I failed my comando course when i had a knee injury on assault course. Biggest disapointment ever for me. I really wanted comanchio (which is no longer active i believe). I had to leave aemy after other injurys and ended up in 23. But always regret not geting my green lid. Best unit in any military.

Its great to see the Royal Marines go back its commando roots, focusing back on small teams hitting high value targets and carrying out specialist missions as they were originally conceived for. They seemed to start loosing that "sf" identity during the afghan conflict and more or less became just another infantry regiment being deployed on long rotations. But now they have reclaimed that commando heritage had some serious investment and upgraded all thier kit including dropping the sa80s for the new KS1, they have once again become one of the world's most elite fighting forces! 🇬🇧

I look back with so much regret not joining the Armed forces when I left school..I watch anything to do with our military with a proud chest pump.. knowing that they're the best of the best..God bless all that served serving and who gave their life for my freedom.
