Interesting my school doesn’t have a theoretical cs concentration. I study AI and my courses are more applied like AI NLP CV DL etc. and computations are mentioned in Algo class (Upenn CIS)
We had to take a couple of ece classes, building the processor and ALU, then second one is assembly for the cpu you built. Those were fun.
tfw its computer graphics that ends up being one of the most painful classes
Did you learn anything about graph reduction machines? For some reason, those excite me a lot 😸
Now he is a YouTuber
So what kind of projects did you create with this acquired knowledge?
Glad you got to learn of amazing stuff. A lot of people will say you can learn a lot of this stuff from Youtube/the internet when that only applies to your first year of classes. You cant get that same kind of depth from a Youtube video for those higher level classes. For the people asking if it's helping you get a job, Id say the point of the degree isnt just to be a job prerequisite. If you can learn the basics through Youtube and websites online, why get a degree. The degree is to provide strong knowledge on the topic thats deep and varied. If all you need to get a good job in swe is 20 hours of Youtube and w3schools, then it doesnt surprise me that we see less tech jobs that are offering less bc theyre being outsourced for cheaper. Deep valuable knowledge takes time and meticulous work.
No networking classes?
Wow they didn't just assume you knew how to do proofs. Dang wish I had been there
My curriculum relate to your one somewhere
So, spent a ton of money to learn stuff you could have taught yourself in half as much time :(
