It is too soon to see any effect.  Many of the layoffs don’t have any effect for another 8 months, and there are also many that are on hold in the courts.  Also many people laid off will be eligible for unemployment insurance for at least a year.  Those affected that get out now will make out the best while those that wait another year or two risk losing a good chunk of equity.

DC is not a large area. A vast majority of fed workers do not live anywhere near DC
