A youtube short that is informative and actually answers a question that a lot of people have? Now that is what we love

@Evanster1212

Mythical shorts pull
No brain rot
No annoying sound effects
Just an actually informative video

@ruiiur2694

Edit: ok so apparently people don’t know what a summary is. I’m just summing up the video and then presenting a statement that gaming laptops aren’t worth it. Yall don’t seem to comprehend that so I’m making this edit. You’re welcome in advance and feel free to tell me why I’m wrong, all opinions matter.

Original comment: It’s bc the board itself is very small guys. The big part of the gpu is the cooling system because they produce a lot of heat. In a laptop they are significantly underclocked to reduce heat and the laptop still overheats and dies in 2 hours max. Gaming laptops are not worth it.

@UndeniableFate

carterpcs actually talking about pcs and giving helpful answers to people's questions 🔥

@cjaythebaker

Think about it this way, in a tower pc the problem is “how do we cool this part” in a laptop it’s “how do we cool this part in a small box and keep it from melting/overheating everything touching it or near it”

@oriondoesstuff

understatement of a lifetime

@aksly1806

Aye carter people becaaying you hardly talk about pcs. But as somone thats getting back into pcs after 10 years. Youve helped me tremendously learn all the new new thats came out. Thanks my guy

Carter is ranked #1 on pause timing

This, and he already kinda mentioned it, but any kind of processors performance doesnt scale linear when it comes to heat. So basically doubling the performance would propably be 4x the heat. And a Hot GPU needs even more power, because of increasing resistance.
So throtteling the GPU just a bit decreases power consumption and therefore heat output by a really significant amount.

It takes a great amount of self-restraint to hold yourself back from finding the answer to such an easy question for such a long time, very impressive.

@unbongarcon19

My 1st time I've seen you do a good video

@utsav430

It depends on wattage of GPU , you can find many laptops with same specifications but there might be the difference in performance, always see wattage of GPU before buying, high watt = high performance

@conneryates5073

I also always wondered learned something new about computers today

@erykjucha

They use the mobile model of that GPU chip (mobile is their way of saying it's for laptops), which yes it's less powerful. But I also heard that very rarely they just use the desktop GPU chip and they undervolt and underclock it

@btoiscool

Tech youtubers are learning wow!

@Huskywolfy5

5090 laptop gpus use the desktop 5080 die and run them at 175w for the most performance and go down from there for different sized laptops
