@PhryneMnesarete

From a purely artistic perspective, this has got to be one of the most visually beautiful videos you guys have ever done

@linwenjia

Really just LOVE the way the animators used the mosaic tiles for this video... Top notch! TedEd animations are always just the best. I also really enjoy learning about the darker side of history in this more animated style.

@OnurTheXbot

The ottomans had to fight the russians from the north, the Habsurgs in the west, the safavids and other persian empires from the east, war in the seas and oceans from the Spanish and the Portuguese and many african, balkan and arab rebellions. Surprised they lasted as long as they did.

@JadenLightvale

the ottomans just had ALL the cards stacked against them and still lasted longer than most other empires

@kaiseramadeus233

Auspicious Event had to be the coolest name I've heard

@Woull.l

I would love to see a video about the history of French colonization in Algeria

@technojunkie123

Ted-Ed knocking it out of the park again with their animation ❤

@honbiopd3group2

getting this recommended TWO DAYS before my ap world final is crazy

@Edmonton-of2ec

Abdulhamid II’s successor was Mehmed V, not Mehmed IV. Mehmed IV died in 1693, so I’m fairly confident he did not take up the Ottoman throne in 1909

@BeegoSuiiiiii

What is this art?? its SOOO mesmorizing and is really calming my nerves. As always TED-Ed, some of the best content I watch are from this channel. Keep it up!

@muhammadkhan2007

Incorrection at 2.32, Non muslims paid jizya and were exempted from joining the military, while Muslims paid Zakah and had to join the military in case of war.

In Muslim Spain, when Muslims were not able to protect the jews from the reconquista, they returned the jizya back to the jews. Had to point this out.

@fatihnuger

Correction: Mehmed IV did not succeed Sultan Abdülhamid II. It was Sultan Mehmed V.
Mehmed IV reigned in the 1600’s.

@marcouzumaki63

The animation is top and unique as always

Please consider making a video on Orlando Furioso by Ludovico Ariosto, I think it could be like the one of Cu Chulainn

@comrade7324

I always find it ironic the Austrians and ottomans teamed up in their final war.

@erebos7992

Wow the new animation style is absolutely beautiful, godamnnn

@SalamiSlim

The Mozaic animation is hypnotic and very cool. Kudos to the animator.

@lthereader5670

Humanity doesn't even deserve the quality of education, music and animation here, well played guys.

@daphnie7843

Seneler önce keşfettiğime çok sevindiğim bir kanaldı. Eğlenip öğrenme tutkumu körüklüyordu. Lakin gerek Ermeni Soykırımı hakkında yayınladığı video gerek bu videoda Cumhuriyetin ilanına doğru olan kısımda Atatürk'ün isminden bahsetmeyişi, genel olarak Türkiye hakkında kötü taraflardan hikayelerin anlatılmayı tercih edişleri bariz bir hal aldı.

@RAMBO14001

The style of this video is simply brilliant and served a purely political explanatory system.. reminds me of Gwent for some reason.

@UserAme99

Ottoman Empire's fatal mistake: Joining WW1 for absolutely no reason.
