what i still miss in MSFS2024 is what was promised but not yet delivered: 1. better performance than MSFS due to optimized usage of CPU cores (right now, framerate still worse here); 2. all aircraft from MSFS work in MSFS2024 (including Ifly, the MD11); 3. full AI aircraft working " out of the box" without the need for additional tools. The list was longer before SU2, I feel that MS is making progress - just not 100% there yet....
I hope for more aircraft compatibility, that's all I need. THe performance, the lighting, the flight model - its all so much better than 2020. Loading times are so much better, it doesn't freeze randomly for a few minutes like 2020 does (which also means violent wind shifts are so much less likely). I jump between sim depending on aircraft just now
Msfs "was" not better, it IS still better.
I’m staying with 2020 for one simple reason: my internet speed at 30mbs is not fast enough to run 2024 with decent graphics, that is it won’t let me have the high/ultra setting that I can have in 2020.
SU2 was the deal maker for me, and I bought 2024 2 days ago and had my first flight. I kinda took a gamble that the Airbuses will keep me busy for a bit, and that at least ONE good 737 can't be far away. My money is on the iFly coming first (and hopefully very soon). Once we have the PMDG and iFly 737s, I'm pretty much happy on the aircraft side of things. Airports wise, there's been a lot of good updates from people like iniBuilds, but I'm a bit disappointed at the slowness and lack of communication from main airport developers around 2024 compatibility. Many of them have not said anything about their plans for updating airports and we're now 6 months in. I'm like, "guys, just put a post on your FB page and tell us what you're working on".
The thing that keeps me from switching to 24 is A) lack of PMDG compatibility and B) having to stream everything in. I know we’re close to having both of those fully integrated in the new sim, hoping to feel comfortable making the switch to the new sim when it is
In Sim Update 3 Beta in MSFS 2024, you can now download the base package and scenery directly to your hard drive. This is great for those who have less-than-ideal internet connections for streaming. Additionally, you can also download the aircraft locally to your hard drive. Downloading these assets locally should improve performance.
My favorite thing has turned into the activities, landing challenges offer a fun challenge from beginning to end, and I feel like you actually learn a little about landing, however the scores are missing, and the leaderboards are all bugged up. in 2020, I can see the current grade I have on the front page, but in 2024 the activites have not updated since it launched
Been with 2020 since day 1 upgraded to 2024 on day 1.... Now I'm back to 2020. I can understand the content creators need to be with the latest Sim.
I've had msfs24 since release but only done my first ever full flight with it today 😂....still with 2020 as my main one
The thing for me was the keyboard settings all being different (though did figure out how to change them) and the inexplicable complexity of making the Thrustmaster Airbus flight stick and throttle quadrant work. It just... worked in 2020 and you could configure the buttons how you liked, but in 2024 it was unusable. Albeit - I haven't tried to reinstall it since launch, but glad that I tried it on GamePass (I pre-ordered Platinum 2020 back in the day). But the presence of a 6 page guide on Thrustmaster on how to configure the peripherals in 2024 doesn't inspire confidence.
I just don't see enough of a change to pay full price for a new sim. The differences are too small or not important to me.
Fully invested in 2024 now and haven’t had 2020 installed since Christmas. Not having any serious issues. SU2 has been a big improvement for me graphically as I’m only using a 3070 laptop. Im keen to get my hands on the ATR for 2024.
I occasionally fly GA in 2024, but my primary sim is still 2020 because I mostly fly heavy metal and 2020 is far more satisfying as a flightsim platform. 2024 might get there some day, but for now, it's 2020.
I am sticking with PMDG and MSFS2020 for now. NO PAIN! And I won't be buying an Airbus until there is a converted Freighter. As always, big thanks for your videos!
The trees look fabulous in 2024, but the low grass density is devastating. It just looks like a few strands a circle around my plane. In 2020 it was even hugging the runway and adding so much depth and life. (xbox at least)
Will never uninstall 2020 ever!!!
PMDG 737-800, iFly Max are the main ones but I know they’re coming. Just reinstalled MSFS24 today and did my first full flight in the Fenix. All went well and performance frankly better than MSFS flying to and from payware airports. I was honestly pleasantly surprised. Not deleting MSFS yet though.
I miss all the liveries in MSFS2020.
