Your technique worked the best for me during my service in the Finnish Army.

I have found the most reliable and quick way for me is to grab a new mag, and use my thumb to kick out the old mag, which conveniently lines up the new mag to be rocked in. But what's fun about the AK is how many viable ways there are to load em, so I practice them all. (My thumb hurts)
What's funny is that because I was in the U.S. Army for 8 years, your technique on the AK came instinctively when I bought my first AK47. I love the platform. I had an SKS for decades which I also loved, but when I finally bought a PSA GF3 AK47, I was astounded by the fact that I was able to actually reload it faster than my AR-15. It just felt more natural in part due to all the years I worked the bolt on an SKS. My only difference is that I use my shooting hand to work the bolt while keeping my support hand pointing the rifle at the target when possible. At the end of the day, the best technique used is the one that works the best for the shooter. There's no 100% correct way for everyone. Keep your head down, stay safe, and Good Hunting.
Watching dudes from Chosen Company is a great indication of what being in the realest suck Western militsry men have seen in a long time--and theyre not all "high speed, low drag," but persistent, alert, adaptable and communicative. Most of the battle doesnt have them going faster than a fast walk, if at all. Shoutout to Dave, an absolute beast of a warrior.
Makes a difference seeing stuff like this from not just an active combatant but a veteran of multiple peer on peer/near peer conflicts......instead of the numerous larpers running tacticool weekend courses for people who absolutely do not need combat training

I was about to argue against his method..until I realized it's fucking CivDiv ๐๐ dude has actual experience that can't be argued with
Keyboard warriors who have never been on a 2 way range. I do it the same way you do. Tried and true method
Thats why i like my AR. Push a button, hand stays on trigger while reloading, then push another button if necessary. Simple, fast, efficient.
Finnish army, im very familiar with AK, (valmet/sako RK in our case) we trained magazine swaps, as well as clearing jams, in all positions, until we didnt have the energy to lift our rifle to shoulder firing position anymore. Lets just say, we got it down pretty quick and efficient, as we are running close to this speed on full mag swap-to ready to fire, but we are using magazine pouches (2 mags per pouch with a snap clip pouch cover). Drop down, and/or take cover, empty mag - out and straight into dump pouch, rip magazine pouch cover open, grab and insert new mag, rack slide, and back to firing position. We also did "fastest in the west" competitions against each other, where you would have to go through a specific set of these motions/positions as fast as possible to try to beat the other person, then winners vs winners until you got to the last pair of guys. Good training, and I think I will buy some AK myself, maybe a newer galil, as they are familiar to our own service rifles, but have better ability for attachments. I will forever be able to disassemble an ak in 5 seconds, back together in 10, and even eyes closed, it just takes about 5 seconds longer when reassembling. Love the AK.
Seeing someone actually have and use a dump pouch to DUMP mags brings joy to my heart.
I cannot believe youโre still alive. Keep up the good work.
Tips f4om someone who's actually used these techniques in combat ๐
I find that grabbing the new mag first and then just sticking my thumb out to hit the paddel is faster than hitting it with the new mag. I can also choose to retain the old mag or just drop it.
Train whatever you are used to. Get good at what you have and learn others if you must and if itโs better use it.
Never argue with a Professional trained combat veteran about something you saw on videogames/movies lol๐
Best part is no one can argue with you because you have the real life experience ๐คฃ
