When you're 90% done, you only have 90% to go. Or, in this case, 99%.
I am not familiar with you and fully expected the video to suck given the low views and subscribers. But man! It genuinely gave me the same satisfaction and information as the best videos on youtube! Thank you and please keep on with your same style. I should grow exponentially :)
Great video! Also you might want to look at your EQ as the Shure MV7 should sound much better than that without any processing.
I'm honestly impressed by the quality you've achieved with the first try.
I used to do this when i didnt really know how to code, but i can say with 100% centainty that it is way better to do your own projects without the help of AI, it is both easier and way more rewarding. Though, i think doing it made me better at detecting errors and problem solving, as i had to know what was wrong to tell it to fix it for me
Having the LLM write the design doc, too? That hurts. It's like the most fun part!
Think of it this way - this is the worst that it will ever be, right now. It can and will only improve from here on out. As coding-impaired solo 3D generalist I cannot wait for when "vibe coding" becomes a viable. For now LLM is helping me with my Linux problems (because interacting with people on Stack is a frustrating experience...) and with writing Blender python scripts π
My experience with vibe coding is that it's super frustrating. I tried to have it generate an electron app that could play multiple audio tracks simultaneously, and also show the waveform, but it was just a hot mess. So far, AI isn't good enough to be more than an assistant developer. You build out the app, then have it help with the things you're either not entirely good at or don't feel like doing (like, converting all my forms to use Angular Material).
I understand people hating this "vibe coding" concept. As of now, it's absolute nonsense! In the future, when LLMs get a proper game engine implementation, they'll be aware of each file in your project, and it'll be a viable practice. But using a chatbot, being a developer, for game development is a whole other thing. Of course, you have to be familiar with the engine and a programming language yourself to be able to review and correct the provided solution, but using AI in this manner can speed up the dev process tremendously! I don't understand an inherent hatred for AI whenever the term shows up. Yes, it has been misused for a lot of things, but no matter your opinion, it's an inevitable future. There's no point in avoiding it as it will only cripple your odds of success when competing with others who use It, and it'll make you vastly inferior. It's slowly but surely becoming a norm. And no, I'm not trying to defend an AI, I'm just being objective. So my point is, if you're a developer, using AI can only be a plus, but you have to use it mindfully.
That was pretty cool to watch! Thanks man
Great video! Remember, LLMs are trained on extensive text corpora, which may not be ideal for mission critical applications. It's best to use them for generating ideas, making small code improvements, and assisting with minor tasks. Developing clear and concise prompts is important as LLMs interpret instructions literally! 'Garbage in, garbage out.' By the way the game looks sick and addictive. Perhaps DLC? π
I dunno about you buy I got some crazy complicated code working very smoothly voxelization with greedy meshing running on the CPU vibe coding. It would have taken me at least a week to write something that AI wrote in like 10 minutes with some additional tweaks from me. AI is good at writing code now. Where AI sturggles the most is seeing the big picture or finding creative solutions to problems.
The only thing I let llm's code are simple simulations and graphs for my physics model I'm working on. It's simple to look over because of how short the code is, and all it's trying to do is add numbers like a good computer, not figure out what's in your head.
broooooooo i was disappoined unil i saw the end. we are doomed
Vibe coding is fun until your boss becomes a literal immortal and your shield logic triggers 3 bosses at once. I got tired of the vibes and brought in Code Maestro. Itβs like switching from karaoke to an actual singer who shows up, sober, and knows Unity better than me.
my stance on vibe coding ... dont be the idea guy ...
This could be a fun "rescue the tampered supercomputer" mini-bonus-stage in Duck Norris? LLMS has no business being called AI. Whether the autofill server farm is a useful tool or not has a myriad of loaded opinions or philosophical stances.
Remove the bell sound
May I inquire as to what model you had employed for the generation of the code for the project?
