I watched this movie with a predominantly black audience when it was out in theaters. EVERYONE was hollering and cheering for Django. One of my favorite movie-going experiences!

Black people LOVE Django and that’s all that matters. We’re tired of seeing slavery movies where we’re downtrodden with no hope and Tarantino gave us one where a slave takes his power and humanity back. If anything we need MORE movies like Django, not less

I’m white, but my adopted father is black, he raised me watching Django, it was one of our favorite movies and we rewatch it to this day and I’m a 19 year old ‘man’ now, me and him both think this film was done beautifully, it’s empowering and well written. Everyone talks down on Tarantino like he’s a rac!st but that couldn’t be further from the truth, Samuel L Jackson has appeared in almost every Tarantino film because they enjoy working together and Tarantino has nothing but respect and love from Samuel L, always giving him the best roles :)
