Interesting story regarding David Bache - I always wondered what happened to him after his departure from BL. Also interesting to hear about the British design influence at Volvo in the late 80s - I knew about Peter Horbury (he was also a Newcastle graduate, like myself), but didn’t realise Steve Harper’s involvement in the 400 series. Very interesting - thanks!

I had a 440 for 8 years. I haven't owned any other car for anything like as long as I had that Volvo. The seats were fantastic and the 2.0 I had went well. What let the car down was the build quality. I had to put get a new gearbox which was a very common issue. That said, it was a great car. Wish I had kept hold of it.

Great interview with Steve great information about the Volvo 400 Series and Escort Cosworth development The DB7 Aston Martin was originally the Jaguar XJ41 F Type project from the 1980's Ford axed it when they took over Jaguar in the late 1980's

I only knew the design story by John de Vries (have spoken with him several times) so I am very excited to hear Steve's part of the 400 series design.

Hi. Thank you for another great interview. But often in your clips you mention alot about different regulations different countries have. Could you make a video on this and explain who has what and the reason for this. Also I believe that for those reasons certain cars don't make it to Britain. I know in India with the Tata little car and alot of Asian cars have lax safety rules and as a result are alot cheaper. Anyway just thought it could be idea for you to think over
