India can be proud of making their Navy and excellent one. Strong Navy, strong country. We are your ally when needed. USA
Good that India, basically a democracy, is becoming more strong in its military. It will help balance China which has attacked India in the past, and may well do so in the future.
This ship has served the Unites States Navy with Distinction and Honour! It is good to see it having another useful Life! Being a Retired U.S. Navy Submarine Sailor I am Happy and Honoured to see it being used by an Ally of the US and not being turned into razor blades or sold as scrap! I am sure the Indian Navy will use the Ship well. She will continue to serve Her Navy with Honour and Distinction! Even though it now sails in Indian Waters it still protects the United States and all nations who Love Freedom! Terrorism knows no Borders or Oceans! India figts Islamic Extremism, Pirates and Organized Criminals on the High Seas just as we do! A strong and Efficient Indian Navy is only a good thing for commerce of the World! The Strong Indian Navy is needed to check the expansion of the Chinese Naval Forces or any other Forces that Threaten Freedom and Commerce in the Indian Ocean, South China Sea, Persian Gulf or where ever they are needed! To My Fellow Indian Naval Sailors and To all those who serve aboard the INS JALASHWA "May you always have Fair Winds and Following Seas!" Sailors belong on Ships and Ship belong at Sea! Anchors Away!
@MrRenegademovies It's the BMP-2 India uses. And they are planned for replacement.
Cool, I dig the captains hat. He reminds me of captain Nimo
Indian Navy know that how to use old ships as new with refurbishment process and technical expertise, so don't worry about it
This is a good use of the Indian Tax Money! Those who work for or in the Governments of all nations need to use the Citizen's Tax Money wisely! Spending $50 Million vs $200 Million on a Item is certainly a wise use of the People's tax Money! Grand Job!
yes, the Indian Navy uses the Barak systems as well as the Kashtan-M system
its funny because theyre usually sold extra expensive and without advanced computers just a shell copy of their ship
@MrRenegademovies Nope. BMP 2 has 30 mm. BMP1 has 73 mm. Just trust me, I know about the Indian military. India has currently 1500+ BMP 2s, its locally manufactured, and the chassis is used as a platform for many other things.
indians love themselves a good bargain
No, there's no sarcasm intended in that phrase. It's an ancient phrase that leaders throughout history have used in a pragmatic sense, from Roman emperors to Regan, who used it as a central theme in his campaign. By your own admission, China won't attack India because it's a nuclear power, were you being sarcastic when you said that?
India doesn't claims Kashmir its own, Its already part of India. I history when Pakistan attacked Kashmir, the king(owner) of Kashmir handed over to India but Pakistan still fought...
Defense should never be mutually exclusive with economic development, especially when your countrymen are starving and uneducated because outside INVADERS looted all your country's wealth. If you know ANYTHING about Indian history, you will know how vital it is for India to be equipped. The weaponry isn't intended to be used in a 100 Year War, but rather a deterrent. Peace comes through strength. You have a lot to learn despite your age.
How exactly would India use such landing craft ships? Such things have been a specialty of the USMC ever since WWII. There they were used mostly in the Pacific to drive the Japanese off their islands. They were also critical in the D-Day operation. I have trouble seeing how these would be useful against P-stan. Perhaps India anticipates more terrorist troubles from Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.?
Indian got this ship on a cheap bargain price. I can't believe even the Admiral said "we got this" CHEAP....LOL!!! Always love cheap and bargain price.
@SturmFuhrerPedro sure is, especially when you know that the Netherlands GAVE India 70 million dollar a year for years!
Wow 50 million dollars so cheap. It is not a new ship but still that is more like a gift then a sale.
@souro19 Wow, be "proud" of it!
