Playing a lotusden halfling hexblood with this class. The lore being a burrow of halflings made a deal with a hag in order to keep them safe and help their burrow prosper. The hag gets children from the burrow in return and they serve the hag as infiltrators and corrupters. I'm drawing inspiration from Susperia. Also since the halflings are the size of children they can use disguise self to turn themselves into a child of a family, do horrid things to the village or a sibling, and then turn back into their original form. Also they could turn themselves into that child in order to steal the actual child away. In addition, since they're a band of bards, they tour various cities and towns providing entertainment and sewing discord and chaos in their wake.

Pair this with Revivify to forcefully retrieve the soul and put it back, while stealing their shadow. You can do this with non-humanoids as well with Arcanist's Magic Aura!

Definitely one of the weaker bard options, but not that bad. Definitely a subclass where the flavor will speak to some people and it will deliver on that flavor. The psychic blades feature can stack with things like booming blade to give you big single attack damage, which is a neat thing to build in to.

This sounds like a super cool RP kind of subclass. Way out of the box style of play. S tier in the right style of game. Curse of Strahd maybe? I used this plus the damphir to make a Pennywise style BBEG. Just a super evil kind of guy.
