Everyone who read the book and watched this trailer is weeping right now. As Vito Corleone said, 'Look how they massacred my boy.'
They really just, missed the point. The artbook held a lot of downright nightmarish imagery. It doesnt need to be...this.
The way Russo brothers change the tone of the film, feels close to the directors of the 1993 Mario brothers movie.
This isn't what Simon Stalenhag envisioned when he wrote and illustrated The Electric State. This is an egg sucking turkey right out of the gate.
This is exactly why I feared it being a netflix release. I don't know why but it reminds me of the borderlands movie. Can netflix make a genuinely good original movie or is it beyond them?
It has none of the atmosphere that made the source material so good.
This movie feels like unseasoned oatmeal
They really fu@ked this up....this should of been a post apocalyptic, dystopian, nightmarish, masterpiece!!!!!
In other news, Netflix is raising its subscription prices.
This film had a budget of 320 million dollars...
As a person who's only seen the art of electric state this feels like a different concept from said artwork, perhaps this is accurate to the books and will be a great move but as an outsider i feel tonal whiplash when comparing the art and the trailers.
Oh look it's Millie Bobby Brown playing Millie Bobby Brown
SNL sketches keep getting better.
Anthony doesnβt sound like himself in this, he sounds like a different person
This has so much tension. Can't wait to see the full movie!! βΊπ
1:25 that son of a b threw a fridge at us!!!!! πππππππ
To anyone who read the book, there's actually a term for this, it's called recuperation, it's about how capitalism will take a critique of capitalism and make a sanitized version of it to sell to people. In simpler term capitalism will find a way to profit from any critiques of it (if you don't think it's anti capitalist then just switch out capitalism for consumerism, it still works but it misses out on the fact that the technology at play is part of the same system)
o good, after reading through the comments I realised I am not the only one feeling like this. I'm glad because I thought I was tripping
Should have gotten a different director to make this film.
