The first Gibson J50 saw the light of day in 1947, five years after its sunburst-finished brother J45. In 1954, the J50 still had almost all the specifications the model had when it was introduced. The famous Slope Shoulder body shape gives the guitar its signature versatility with a warm and deep sound, excellent projection and unprecedented ease of play due to its short scale.
