Yes, you can, because even though the straw appears broken, it's actually intact.

This is because of a phenomenon called refraction.

When you place a straw in a glass of water, it looks bent at the point where it enters the water.

This happens because light travels at different speeds in air and water.

As light moves from the air (a less dense medium) into the water (a denser medium), it slows down and bends toward the normal at the point of incidence.

This bending makes the straw appear displaced or broken, but in reality, it's still whole, just distorted by the refracted light.
