Good day everyone!

Today I will continue the oil painting tutorial of my family portrait using 1meter x 1 meter huge canvas. Last time I already painted , mother and two sons alaprima and it still needs to be refined until i reach the desired result .
In the first phase, we search for inspiration through looking at some classical paintings of mother and child inspired by the painting of famous woman french painter Vigee Le Brun. Today we are heading to the second phase , the dirty stage because as you can see it still not the exact likeness , but we just have to go through it and do some re touch here and there.

What inspired me to paint this artwork?
I always have this dreamlike vision of having a family portrait in classical style. I visited lots of museums here in Europe and I really admired how the old masters painted portraits before, so why not try it myself and paint my own family. I wanted to challenge my self to paint to bring this vision in reality through art.

I used the alla prima technique in painting this artwork.
