Up and Down the Ladder of Abstraction [interactive article by Bret Victor, 2011]

Interactive visualizations allow us to better understand complex systems. In his interactive article titled "Up and Down the Ladder of Abstraction", author Bret Victor shows a methodology of using the ladder of abstraction to to build interactive visualizations that are able to show many system states at a glance. It's one of Jay's favorite articles on interaction design. This video goes over the article and its visualizations.
