भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, उत्तराखंड के जोशीमठ में केवल 12 दिनों में 5.4 सेमी की तेजी से गिरावट देखी गई।
इसरो के नेशनल रिमोट सेंसिंग सेंटर द्वारा जारी की गई सैटेलाइट तस्वीरों से पता चलता है कि शहर 27 दिसंबर से 8 जनवरी के बीच 5.4 सेंटीमीटर डूब गया।

प्रत्यक्षदर्शियों के हवाले से रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि "2 जनवरी, 2022 को शुरू हुई एक तेजी से धंसने की घटना" के कारण बड़े पैमाने पर मिट्टी का धंसना हुआ।


हालांकि वैज्ञानिक अभी भी उन दरारों का अध्ययन कर रहे हैं जो कस्बे में भूमि धंसने के बाद घरों और सड़कों में दिखाई दीं,
इसरो की प्राथमिक रिपोर्ट के निष्कर्ष डराने वाले हैं।

जोशीमठ में स्थिति गंभीर!

जोशीमठ को चमोली जिला प्रशासन द्वारा भूस्खलन क्षेत्र घोषित किया गया है। सैकड़ों घरों में दरारें देखी गई हैं
और पिछले कुछ दिनों में इमारतें। हालात यह हो गए हैं कि सैकड़ों परिवारों को जोशीमठ से सुरक्षित स्थानों पर पहुंचा दिया गया है.
इस बीच, राज्य सरकार ने 1.5 लाख रुपये के अंतरिम राहत पैकेज की घोषणा की है और पुनर्वास पैकेज पर काम कर रही है।

Uttarakhand's Joshimath saw a rapid sinking of 5.4 cm in just 12 days, according to a report by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Satellite images released by ISRO's National Remote Sensing Centre show the town sank 5.4 cm between December 27 and January 8.

The report, quoting witnesses, said the massive soil sinking occurred due to "a rapid subsidence event that was triggered on January 2, 2022."


Although scientists are still studying the cracks that appeared in the houses and roads after the land subsidence in the town,
the findings in the primary report of ISRO are frightening.

Situation critical in Joshimath!

Joshimath has been declared as landslide area by the Chamoli district administration. Cracks have been seen in hundreds of houses
and buildings in the last few days. The situation has become such that hundreds of families were shifted from Joshimath to safer places.
Meanwhile, the state government has announced an interim relief package of Rs 1.5 lakh and is working on a rehabilitation package.
