Da Vinci DC100, a self-balancing electric motorcycle that will follow you around

Beijing's Da Vinci Dynamics has launched its DC100, a high-performance electric street bike with an impressive 250-mile (400 km) NEDC range, including the alleged ability to self-balance and follow you around.

The DC100 will sprint from 0-100 km/h in somewhere between 3-4 seconds. The DC100 features advanced sensors that track information including the ambient temperature, its lean angle, its speed and acceleration, load, type of terrain, and any difference between wheel speeds. This data is used to precisely moderate how its power is delivered to ensure optimum performance in all conditions.

When Drive mode is selected and the brake lever is released, the DC100 creeps forward slowly at under 3 mph (5 km/h) to enable a smooth start. When on a slope, the DC100 detects the angle of incline and applies Hill-start Assist Control. When riding downhill, the DC100 adjusts its speed to optimize both balance and energy recovery. When putting into Reverse gear, the DC100 moves backwards slowly with high torque so riders can reverse easily even on an incline.

In an emergency, you only need to pull the lever to cut off the power and ensure the brake priority. At this time, the front wheel is physically braked, and the rare wheel is braked by the current reversal of the in-wheel motor within the rare wheel. DC100 can correct the wheel speed by sensing the difference between the front and rear wheel and the change of the friction of the rear wheel through sensors to ensure the stability of the vehicle body.

And Da Vinci has apparently built at least three of them so far.
