Gisèle Pelicot has spoken briefly to reporters outside the courtroom after her husband and 50 other men were found guilty of her rape and sexual assault, and sentenced.

She said she respects the court and the decision it made. 'It is with profound emotion that I am here. The trial was a very difficult ordeal,' she said, reading from a prepared statement. The French court found 47 men guilty of rape, two of attempted rape and two of sexual assault, and Dominique Pelicot, who drugged and organised the rape of his wife over a nine-year period, was sentenced to 20 years in prison
