"Let my name stand among those who are willing to bear ridicule and reproach for the truth's sake, and so earn some right to rejoice when the victory is won." - Lousisa May Alcott, American novelist & Civil War nurse, who fought against slavery, and registered women to vote.

For my challenge I will not but using the prompts from the official page. I decided to tailor it to my weaknesses in order to really learn from the experience. So I am choosing to do semi- realistic portraits. (Not my forte at all). I want to practice better brush control. I will be using color but only 2 & mixing them per painting.
My Supplies:
Higgins Ink - This is the one thing I am comfortable with in the challenge. I have been using Higgins for 14 years. I love them!
(I am not sponsored or anything, I just love them!) If you want to check them out:

A flat brush & a fine detail brush - I consider myself a sloppy painter. I hope that by the end of this challenge I will have honed in a little bit.
Masking fluid & application tools - I have no Idea what possessed me to throw this into my challenge. I have 0 experience. This is my first time ever using it. Things are gonna get messy!
Mixed media paper - I am starting out with this to see how far I can push it with the washes. I may switch to watercolor paper by the end.
For this one I wanted to go a little crazy with the masking fluid. I had fun with the background as well as got a better feel for the application tool I got.
Colors used in this Video: Magenta and Turquoise by Higgins
