THE STORY OF AN APP AND A HIDDEN GEM OF IOS
Leah Vogel, Mobile Engineering Manager, Chegg
At a previous job, I had to build an app for internal usage for an upcoming demo at CES. I figured I’d rely on my experience with Bluetooth and get it done quickly. It turns out that my understanding of the initial description of what was discussed was incorrect, and what the app needed was something different entirely. As is typical of startups, the requirements kept changing, rendering my original plan obsolete. Luckily, this led me to do more research and discover another framework I had never heard of before. (Spoiler: it’s Multipeer Connectivity!)
Join me on a journey from idea to successful execution. This talk is about workflow (and lack thereof), the steps I took to make the app happen while dealing with shifting priorities and spec (and lack thereof), managing a very tight deadline, and an introduction to Multipeer Connectivity - a framework that may be new to you as well.
