Today I'd like to talk about microcontrollers. I have been playing with different MCUs and breadboarding different prototypes and they end up sitting around on a shelf in the house collecting dust.
I wanted to come up with an enclosure that is safe and compact-- that doesn't take up a lot of shelf or table space-- because I have a plan to have a bunch of these around.
The projects that are interesting to me involve a large number of microcontrollers in various locations around the house with sensors of various kinds that are not only communicating with each other but with other kinds of devices-- smartphones, PCS, the internet.
This basic platform is my first design project involving multiple parts that fit together in a functional manner. I hope to use it as a base to construct a large number of microcontroller devices that have different functions and communicate with each other in a mesh. Ultimately they will be both inside and outside the house, so they're going to have to deal with the elements. That means I'll have to make this enclosure more watertight.
Thank you for watching my videos. I look forward to hearing what you have to say about this and look forward to seeing you in the next video.
