“Simple Coding = Great. Simple English = Great.”
In coding, simplicity is key. Why?
It makes your code easier to debug.
It lets others take over your project smoothly.
It ensures your work stands the test of time.
The same rule applies to English.
When you communicate:
Avoid jargon with stakeholders or clients. Saying “We need to refactor the API endpoints” might sound impressive, but “We need to streamline how our systems talk to each other” is clearer.
Focus on clarity, not complexity. If people walk out of a meeting confused, you’ve missed the point.
Prioritize understanding. The goal isn’t to sound smart, it’s to solve problems together.
I’ve seen developers spend hours simplifying code, only to drown their stakeholders in technical terms.
Please don’t be that person.
