Royal Ransomware Group

​​In 2023 the City of Dallas was hit by a ransomware attack, orchestrated by the notorious Royal Ransomware group. The attack severely disrupted municipal services, with the Dallas Police Department's IT systems and communications taking the hardest hit. In a chilling demonstration of the attack's reach, printers connected to the City of Dallas network began spontaneously churning out ransom notes.
